Privacy policy
How we collect, use and protect your personal information, under Quebec's Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector.
Person responsible for personal information
Chadi Abi Zeid, Owner, is responsible for the protection of personal information at ABZ Accounting.

What we collect
When you ask for a quote or contact us: your name, email address, phone number, the type of client you are, the service you're interested in and your message.
When you become a client: the financial and tax information needed to provide the services you ask for, such as income slips, receipts, bank statements, payroll data and government correspondence.
When you visit the website, and only if you accept cookies: Google Ads cookies that measure whether our ads lead to quote requests.
Why we use it
To answer your request and prepare a quote.
To provide the accounting, bookkeeping, payroll and tax services you hire us for, and to file returns with the government on your behalf when you authorize it.
To meet our legal obligations, including record-keeping required by tax law.
To measure the performance of our advertising, only with your consent.
We do not sell your personal information.
How we collect it
Directly from you: through the quote form on our website (stored with our website provider, Wix), by email, by phone, in meetings, or through documents you give us.
With your authorization, from government bodies such as the Canada Revenue Agency and Revenu Québec, when we act as your representative.
Who we share it with
Only with people and service providers who need it to deliver our services, and only for that purpose: the CPA firm we work with for compilation engagements, our accounting software (QuickBooks Online), our email and website hosting providers, and Google for advertising measurement if you accept cookies.
Government bodies such as the Canada Revenue Agency and Revenu Québec, when filing on your behalf or when the law requires it.
Some of these providers may store information outside Quebec. When that happens, we make sure the information receives adequate protection, as the law requires.
Cookies
Google Ads cookies are off until you accept them in the banner. If you decline, no advertising cookies are set. You can change your choice at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser; the banner will appear again.
How long we keep it
We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purpose it was collected for, or as long as the law requires. Tax records, for example, generally must be kept for six years. After that, it is destroyed securely.
How we protect it
Access to your information is limited to the people who need it for your file. We use password-protected systems and secure software, and we treat everything you send as confidential.
Your rights
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or withdraw your consent to its use, subject to legal and contractual limits. Send your request to the person responsible above; we answer within 30 days.
If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can file a complaint with the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec.
Privacy incidents
If an incident involving your personal information presents a risk of serious harm, we will notify you and the Commission d'accès à l'information, as the law requires.
